Students At St. Francis’ College Celebrate With Over A Quarter Of All Grades at A*

Our Year 13 Leavers celebrated a fantastic set of A Level results this morning, with over 25% of all grades achieving A* and 53% achieving A*-A. These results represent a continuation of the College’s extraordinary academic successes over previous years, and are a testament to the hard work demonstrated by our students:

A* – 25.2% of entries (national = 9.3%)
A*- A – 53.2% of entries (national = 27.8%)
A*- B – 82.6 of entries
A*- C – 96.1% of entries (national = 76.1%)
A*- E – 100% of entries

We are so proud of the achievements of each and every student, but especially all those who achieved A*-A across the board: Jaskeerat who gained 4 A*s, is going on to study Politics & Economics at the London School of Economics. Two students are going on to study Medicine: Tiffany (3 x A* and 2 x A) at Kings College London and Christa (1 x A* and 2 x A) at the University of Nottingham. Sophia (2 x A* and 2 x A) will be taking up her place at the University of Exeter to study Psychology. Three students gained 2 x A* and 1 x A; Ilinca plans to study Sport & Exercise Science at Loughborough University, Ella is heading for the University of Leeds to study English Literature whilst Hannah will be studying Physiotherapy at the University of Southampton. Other students are heading to universities to study a wide range of courses including Accountancy, Biochemistry, Computer Science, Engineering, Fashion & Design Innovation, History, Law and Politics.

The College’s Head of Sixth Form, Mrs Ruth Scott, said: ‘I am so proud of all our students and how hard they have worked to achieve this extraordinary set of results, which will move them closer to achieving their dreams. It’s a testament to the hard work and dedication they have given their learning. We all wish them the very best as they head off in exciting new directions.’

The Head of the College, Mr Nichols, said: ‘I’m so delighted for our students celebrating their individual successes, particularly in light of the fact this year the grading of A Levels has returned to pre-pandemic standards. The results they’ve achieved demonstrate not only just how hard they have worked, but also impressive resilience. I would like to thank all our staff who have supported them in their studies, and we look forward to seeing another set of impressive outcomes in the GCSE results next week.’
