Years 3, 4 & 5 had an amazing Ancient Egyptian Day yesterday, linked to their Humanities learning. They travelled back to 1332 BCE to the time of Pharaoh Akhenaten and Queen Nefertiti and took part in a range of hands-on activities, including making canopic jars from clay, creating bookmarks on papyrus using hieroglyphs, and stamping copper to make amulets.
In the afternoon, they put the teachers on trial, accusing staff of poisoning the Pharaoh, and enjoyed drama and dance showcases that really brought the period to life. A huge thank you to our parents for making and finding costumes, to our parent helpers for supporting the day, and to Mrs Pattison for organising such a fun and memorable workshop for the pupils.
