As part of St. Francis’ College, our children are extremely well looked after by our dedicated catering team who are passionate about making fresh and nutritious food. We are able to cater for all dietary requirements and ensure our food is prepared onsite, is nutritionally balanced and wherever possible, seasonal.
We believe that mealtimes are an important learning opportunity as well as being a time to gather as a school community, our Prep children have their cooked lunch in the main school dining room where we actively encourage them to try new food, support them in learning to use cutlery and socialise at the table with staff who eat alongside them.
A light tea of sandwiches and fruit is provided for children staying between 4pm and 5pm.
The Sixth Form students benefit from their own café run by the College's catering staff. Every morning break the Sixth Formers are able to buy a selection of freshly baked cakes and biscuits alongside a range of high quality hot drinks. It is the perfect informal atmosphere for the students to relax in.
School menus are created with input from staff and students via the School Council. As well as catering for vegetarians St. Francis’ kitchens can provide varied and balanced choices for a number of other special dietary requirements including, but not limited to, coeliac, diabetic, lactose intolerant and low cholesterol.
All year groups take their meals in the dining room, which is located at the heart of the Broadway building. This light, airy room is the perfect place to relax and enjoy good food. The professional service station allows students to choose from the wide variety of food on offer.
Further information about school lunches is sent to all new joiners in their joining packs.
