Our aim is for children to feel confident and positive about their maths; to engage actively in mathematical activities, becoming increasingly responsible for their own learning; and to develop 
understanding of how and when to apply the skills and concepts they have learned.
We use 'Abacus Active Learn' which provides us with textbooks and interactive activities to use in lessons as well as games and activities which the girls can access from home. We supplement the Abacus programme with a range of other resources for the support and extension of learning.
In order to ensure consistency of approach, we use The Overview of Calculation Strategies. This enables children to progress stage by stage, through models and representations they recognise from previous teaching, allowing for deeper conceptual understanding and fluency.
