Our school dog, Molly.
Pastoral Hub
At St. Francis’ we understand that our students need support to thrive both academically and emotionally, Our Pastoral Hub is a dedicated space that is designed to provide holistic support for our students’ wellbeing.
The Hub is available for all students across the age range as a tranquil and welcoming environment, where students can speak to our wonderful Pastoral Support Officer (PSO), have a moment of quiet or simply spend some time with our school dog, Molly. Molly is owned by Mrs Spence, and spends every day during term time at the College. There are many benefits to having a wellbeing dog in the College, including the health and wellbeing of both pupils and staff. Having a dog in school has the potential to help children to develop in a range of academic, personal and social areas, including:
- Increased attendance at school.
- Building confidence.
- Decreasing anxiety.
- Increased motivation.
