Gender & Sexuality Inclusion

Gender & Sexuality Inclusion

At St. Francis' College we have an inclusive ethos that is celebrated across the College. Students are taught about sexual orientation and gender inclusion as part of the curriculum through PSHE and RSE. We celebrate inclusion through assemblies, collective worship and tutor time activities.

Our policy on Gender Inclusion can be found here

Our Gender Inclusion Lead for the College is Mrs Charlotte McDermott. Mrs McDermott has worked with students in Year 11 to establish the Gender and Sexuality Alliance. The GSA meets weekly to discuss gender inclusion. The GSA have run assemblies to Year groups across the College and strive to ensure we have an inclusive ethos.

Staff have received training on how to support students and ensure we foster an inclusive environment. Michael Gray, Cam Academy Trust Diversity Lead has recently been into the College to speak to staff about Gender and Sexuality Inclusion.
