On Thursday 8th December, Heather (Year 13) and Mrs Elliott attended a Philosophy, Ethics and Religion Masterclass organised by Academy Learning and held at Lady Mitchell Hall at the University of Cambridge. We listened to lectures by leading academics on a wide variety of interesting topics including ‘Is Theism Rationally Defensible?’ ‘Is the Problem of Evil a problem?’ and ‘God and Gender’. The day concluded with a debate on the motion ‘This house believes that morality is relative’ and Heather gave an excellent argument in support. The conference was both thought-provoking and enjoyable and gave a deeper insight into the areas covered in the A Level Religious Studies course.
