The Anthea Bell Prize

MFL department are delighted to share the news that Robin Thurgood and Iliana Kokotis were selected for an area commendation, in The Anthea Bell Prize for Young Translators for their translation of ‘Le Crapaud’ (The Toad) by Robert Desnos.

 

This competition, run by The Queen’s College, Oxford, is inspired by the life and work of the great translator Anthea Bell.

 

Over 14,000 pupils took part in this national competition.  There were 3,200 submissions from 260 schools, including 8 from St Francis’ College, making their achievement really impressive.
