Science Project

June 08, 2018

Our Year 8 Scientists are working on an exciting new project in collaboration with the Baliga Lab at the Institute for Systems Biology in Seattle, USA.  They are investigating networks and the importance of them in Biology as well as in everyday life. They will be learning about extremophiles – organisms that live in harsh environments - using a real-life example of an event that affected the Great Salt Lake ecosystem.  The girls will generate hypotheses and then test these out by designing experiments to carry out in lessons.  We are the first UK school to take part in this collaboration, which is a great opportunity for our girls to experience first-hand, some real scientific research.  We will keep you posted as we generate results!
