She Inspires Me Event - 7th March

February 03, 2017

On the eve of International Women’s Day (a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women), St Francis College is hosting an evening of talks by women who have their own inspirational stories to tell, at the same time promoting the awareness of the charity Women for Women International and their #sheinspiresme campaign.

Following the success of last year’s event, St. Francis will again be hosting an event that will seek to inspire us with a determination to succeed at all levels. The evening is open to all local families and St. Francis’ hopes to welcome many young adults from the local area, but ask that people wishing to attend do contact us in advance to register their attendance.  While this is a free event, attendees will be issued with tickets for seating purposes.

Three remarkable women are visiting the college to share their stories with the audience; Dr Preti Taneja  (writer, activist and academic), Hannah Macleod (double Olympic medallist, London and Rio, with the Great Britain Women’s hockey team) and Professor Tanya Byron (Consultant Clinical Psychologist & TV Presenter). St Francis’ is thrilled to welcoming these three remarkable ladies to Letchworth.  They have each achieved so much in their professional lives and are already a source of inspiration to us all.  We are really looking forward to hearing them speak.

Refreshments will be served after the talks, allowing an opportunity for reflection and discussion. St. Francis’ College hopes that the attendees will take inspiration from the event, and that the evening will encourage all of the young people in the audience to be motivated into thinking how they can inspire others in their everyday lives.

There will be no charge for attending the event, but there will be an opportunity for the attendees to make a donation to Women for Women International should they wish.

Anyone wishing to attend the evening or having further questions should contact Victoria Robeson at St. Francis’ College on 01462 670511 or e-mail
