As of September 2017, St. Francis’ College is delighted to announce that it will be welcoming boys into the Kindergarten area of the school.
By welcoming both boys and girls we are giving parents the opportunity to educate their children together throughout the early years. Girls will move onto the Reception class while the boys will be prepared to successfully start their school years at a range of local schools.
Our Kindergarten welcomes children from the term after they turn three years old and provides a curriculum which is balanced and stimulating within a routine framework. A variety of styles and activities are used to establish a solid foundation in communication, literacy and language as well as mathematical development and understanding. All children attend weekly classes led by specialist teachers in Speech and Drama, Music, Swimming, PE and optional Ballet.
The children are in a purpose-developed stimulating environment, safe and secure, but also benefiting from the facilities of the main school. The Kindergarten children are at the beginning the Foundation Stage of their education and are introduced to play-based learning and gain confidence through involvement in department productions and concerts.
The Kindergarten day is from 8.50 until 3.10pm, although when first starting children are able to attend for mornings only. Children are welcome to stay in the afterschool club until 6pm if required.

The Pre-Prep complements the existing Prep School with a focus on fulfilling academic potential alongside the tremendous importance of cherishing and nurturing the welfare of each individual pupil. A rounded and happy child, ready for and curious about the future is what we work with our families to develop.
