Prep - Curriculum

The Prep Department offers children a future ready, inspiring and lively curriculum.

Rigour is evident in our pupils learning and in our teaching throughout the Prep School. We know we are educating the whole child ready for the world beyond school therefore in addition to the core curriculum, we offer subjects such Outdoor Learning, PE, Performing Arts and Design and Technology.

We are particularly proud of our extra-curricular provision which changes on a termly basis.

Homework

The Prep Department believes that homework should be purposeful, consolidatory, thought provoking and fun.

Prep I and II are given a maximum of 20 to 30 minutes of homework.

Prep III & IV are given 30 to 45 minutes a night

Prep V & VI no more than 45 minutes a night

We recognise the importance of developing time management skills in our children therefore pupils have a minimum of two evenings to complete homework.

Whilst we aim increasingly to develop a disciplined and respectful mind with independent study skills, of equal importance is the ability to synthesise information and to think creatively in preparation for society today.
