Sixth Form

In the Sixth Form, students have the opportunity to specialise in terms of their academic studies and take part in a wide range of enrichment opportunities.  Most students take three A Level subjects throughout Year 12 and 13, with many adding an Extended Project Qualification on the side.  Students are taught in small classes, often in a more seminar style with plenty of opportunities for discussion and debate.  Students are expected to study more independently, and we help them develop into self-organised, confident and reflective learners.  All students are encouraged to work hard and achieve the very best they can.

A number of programmes run alongside academic study.  Our enrichment opportunities are vast, and help the girls build their skills of organisation, creativity, teamwork, communication and leadership.  For full details of each activity please click on the links to the left.

The University Applications Programme, which begins just before Easter in Year 12, supports students all the way through the process of applying to university.  Advice is offered on choosing a subject, selecting which universities to apply to, how to write a personal statement and how the UCAS form works.  Once applications are sent off, there is the opportunity for interview preparation as well as any guidance needed on deciding which offers to accept.  For news on the University Applications Programme, including information for parents, please click on the link to the left.

Sixth Form students regularly have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of trips, including our annual Sixth Form Travel Abroad visit to a European city.  These expeditions offer them the chance to extend their learning beyond the classroom, develop practical skills and explore the wider world.  Accounts of our recent trips can be found via the link on the left.

Students interested in joining the Sixth Form are invited to arrange a meeting with our Head of Sixth Form.  For further information please contact
