Beyond The Classroom
In our Sixth Form you’ll have a range of experiences each week that are beyond your normal subject areas. You’ll have Enrichment, PE, Personal Development, and the option to complete an EPQ.
Enrichment provides a plethora of opportunities for self-development and university preparation. Some of the many sessions include:
- Public speaking.
- Cooking on a budget.
- Finance for life.
- Critical thinking.
- Use of AI.
- Self-defense.
PE offers a choice of three activities each term and have included golf, badminton, disabled sports, table tennis and the fitness gym.
We believe that an important part of our role is to prepare students for their next step in life and Personal Development lessons cover a huge range of these aspects. Some of the topics covered include:
- ‘Relationships’
- ‘Dreams and Goals’
- ‘Celebrating Difference’
- ‘Healthy Me’
All students also follow the EPQ Programme where you’ll be taught the skills needed to develop your own independent project which can range from creating an artefact, organising and presenting a performance, creating a dissertation or a scientific report. This gives you invaluable experience in planning your content and time, critically analysing your research, presenting your findings in a report and a live presentation and finally evaluate all aspects of your EPQ journey. The project is your and you’ll organise your time and your own expectations, but help is on hand when you ask for it from an EPQ leader and individual supervisors.
