Our PSHE programme is taught in timetabled lessons and on occasion external providers are used for Sex Education, Study Skills and Mental Health Awareness. (See curriculum page). Personal, social, health and economic education is a planned programme of learning opportunities and experiences that help our girls grow and develop as individuals and as members of the College community and families.
PSHE Education equips our girls with the skills and attitudes needed to react positively to the pressures of modern life. The programme actively promotes the basic fundamental British values of democracy, rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs. It also encourages students to embrace differences and to value the right of individuals to be treated equally.
PHSE is taught in a timetabled lesson in KS2 and throughout the curriculum in EYFS and KS1. Prep staff use their professional judgement in gauging when the lesson adheres exactly to the scheme of work or when there is a need for circle time to discuss issues which have arisen.
