Each year group has a team consisting of Form Tutors and Year Head. Form Tutors are the first point of contact for students every day, allowing time for the building of relationships and trust. In addition, Heads of Years meet with the Year group once a week on Wednesdays to support the Year with any specific needs. The team tracks the academic and pastoral progress of each student and liaises with the Head of Pastoral as well as the Heads of Department, in order to ensure that appropriate interventions are in place to support our students.
Each half term the girls are asked to think about an aspect of their emotional intelligence as part of Pastoral tracking and set a target to work on. We ask the girls to link the target to trying out a new skill in their extra-curricular activities for example, leading an activity, helping someone else to learn a new skill, listening to a friend in need or practising speaking out loud more often. The girls review these with their Form Tutor as they would their academic targets and reflect on how they have improved. The team closely monitors and supports the emotional wellbeing of the students in their Year group.
In the Prep Department, girls are mainly with their Form Teacher but do travel around the College for specialist lessons. Regular opportunities for staff to share information about the girls is through weekly briefings. Form staff track the wellbeing of the girls on a termly basis and this information is shared with the Head of Prep.
